Hello I am Dori Ansah-Walker, founder of Camp Dori. I have been an educator for over 19 years; 13 of which were spent in the area of special education. I began my teaching career in the military as a Technical Training Instructor and Academic Advisor at Shepherd, Air Force Base. After serving in the military, I decided to pursue my life-long goal of being an educator and obtained a Masters of Arts in Clinical Teaching and Emotional Handicap from the University of West Florida. A firm believer in continuing education, I went on to obtain an Education Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University, Tennessee.
I love teaching and it is my desire that every individual entrusted to my care becomes an active participant in their own education. It breaks my heart to see any individual, especially young children, due to repeated failures, shut down from a feeling of hopelessness. I believe that all learners can succeed and should be given the opportunity to do so.
